Kabukicho Sherlock, the upcoming series which transplants Sherlock Holmes to the entertainment district of Kabukicho, Shinjuku, will be sticking around for a while.
It’s been announced the show will run for two seasons, or cours, racking up 24-odd episodes.
An original series getting two seasons right out of the gate is somewhat rare, though Kabukicho Sherlock is technically an adaptation of the original stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.
The series is animated at Production I.G, directed by Ai Yoshimura (Blue Spring Ride) and hits the streets of Kabukicho October 11. It stars Katsuyuki Konishi (Gurren Lagann) as Holmes and Yuichi Nakamura (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) as Watson.
