Kizumonogatari Anime Film Ad Hypes Up Opening Day

The first anime film in the Kizumonogatari trilogy hits theaters in Japan today. The 60-minute Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen (Blood and Iron) features Akiyuki Simbo (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) as chief director and Tatsuya Oishi (Maria Holic) as director, with Akio Watanabe and Hideyuki Morioka handling character designs for the SHAFT production.

Based on the third volume in NisiOisin’s Monogatari series of books, the first film will make its way to theaters in the U.S. on February 26 as Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu. In the meantime here’s an ad hyping up the Japanese theatrical debut.
