There’s a lot to soak in about Neon Genesis Evangelion‘s new collaboration with Odakyu Group, which will be held at the Hakone area in Kanagawa Prefecture in which the main story of the anime takes place. Thus, it has plenty of prime sight-seeing spots like Lake Ashi and Volcanic Valley Owakudani, and to top it all off there’s even a… Second Impact Hot Spring!
That aspect of the collaboration is, oddly enough, exactly what it sounds like. If the promotional photos are anything to go by, the hot spring at the Hakone Kowaiken Yunnesun spa resort will run a deep red, perfect for reenacting your favorite traumatic scenes from the anime.
The collaboration also includes a Neo-Tokyo 3 Stamp Rally, specially-wrapped buses, a “secret operation” at Lake Ashi, and an original tour and merchandise selection. There’s even a visual to go along with it, which has the main cast of Evangelion decked out in Hakone Walking-themed outfits.
You can see the visual at the top of the article, and here’s a peek at the bus art, Hakone Mountain Climbing Bus visual, and the decorations planned for Tougendai Station.
The collaboration will run from January 10 to June 30, 2020.
