Macross Delta Gets Theatrical Anime Film

Believe it or not, the Macross franchise turns 35 years old this year.

In celebration, the most recent Macross series, Macross Delta, will be getting a theatrical anime film, it was announced this weekend.

The theatrical version was announced at the Rock in Japan Festival, where Walkure, the pop unit from the series, performed.
So far, no details regarding the film, such as whether it will retell the story of the series or be an original story, have been announced.

Macross Delta aired from April to September 2016, and was directed by Macross creator Shoji Kawamori and Kenji Yasuda.
