This weekend was host to Magia Day 2019, an event that celebrated the second anniversary of mobile game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story. There’s a lot to celebrate, too, especially with an anime adaptation on the way, and the event came through with the production’s debut promo.
The only downside to all this is that the anime has been pushed back to a January 2020 premiere. On the bright side, the latest cast addition was revealed as Kana Hanazawa (Kosaki in Nisekoi, Marie in Persona 4), who will voice new character Kuroe. Check out the promo below.

The series has Gekidan Inu Curry on board as chief director and series script supervisor, with Madoka Magica series director Yukihiro Miyamoto returning to fill the assistant director role. The first anime’s chief animation director Junichirou Taniguchi is also returning and providing character designs, and SHAFT is once again on animation production.
