Mamoru Oshii Cuts to the Chase with Kiru ~ Kill

This should interest anyone that fancies action and anthologies in equal parts. Mamoru Oshii, famed director of classics like Ghost in the Shell, is overseeing a live-action project known as Kiru ~ Kill along with three other directors, another of which is Kenta Fukasaku (Battle Royale II, X-Cross).

The catch here is that each short is to act as if it’s the final major action sequence of a fictional film (and it seems sword-fighting is the theme), making the collection of four films something that sets out to pump the audience up without any real setup. Oshii will be contributing with Assault Girl 2, in which he’ll depict a climactic battle between stars Rinko Kikuchi (Babel) and Yoko Fujita.
