Social networking service mixi has a hit on its hands in the form of monster-slinging mobile RPG Monster Strike, so the property is getting ready to expand further. According to company president Hiroki Morita, the game is being adapted into an anime, with its broadcast debut planned for sometime this year.
Monster Strike originally launched on iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2013. English versions followed and are available on Google Play and the iTunes Store, and Morita also announced that a Nintendo 3DS version is being developed. There’s currently no release date, but the 3DS port should be arriving in Japan this year.
