Museum to Honor Doraemon’s Fujiko F. Fujio

The late co-creator of that legendary blue cat with the trans-dimensional pouch we all love, Fujiko F. Fujio, will be receiving one of our planet’s highest honors come 2011: an interactive museum. While its opening was originally planned for 2010, it’s been pushed back a bit, but the concept sounds like quite the attraction for fans of Doraemon and Fujio in general.

Some of the blueprints for the museum’s rooms can be found here, which links to a downloadable PDF file. Opening in Fujio’s hometown of Kawasaki, the facility will be home to a recreation of his room, a playground, and a screening room among many others, including the classroom pictured below, which will showcase his original artwork. I think 2011 may be a good year to plan an Otaku USA field trip.
