The Ghost in the Shell saga continues with a new manga series that just launched on Kodansha’s Comic DAYS app and website. Jun’ichi Fujisaku is on the story, with Hiroki Yoshimoto handling art for Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm, which will also run in the pages of Kodansha’s Monthly Young Magazine starting on September 20.
The Human Algorithm is based on Ghost in the Shell creator Masamune Shirow’s Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor, and follows the everyday lives of Section 9 members after the Major’s disappearance. Togusa, Batou, Azuma, and Ishikawa are all featured along with a new character, Tsunagi, who is recruited from the Psychic Division.
Writer Fujisaku is no stranger to the series, having previously written for the Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex TV anime back in 2002-2003. Fujisaku also served as supervisor on 2013-2014’s Ghost in the Shell: Arise.
