Nominees Announced for 2018 Manga Taisho Awards

2018 Manga Taisho nomineesThe Manga Taisho, one of the manga world’s most prestigious awards, is back. The annual event has just listed the 12 nominees for this year’s award—and for us, that means a list of manga worth checking out.

The nominees are as follows (Japanese followed by official English title when available):

Some of these titles will be familiar to U.S.-based fans: some, like Made in Abyss, have been licensed, released in English and even adapted into anime. Others are relatively unknown—but with their Manga Taisho nominations, expect these titles to pick up a lot of press soon.

The Manga Taisho is limited to manga series with eight or fewer collected volumes. The top three will be announced “at the end of March or beginning of April.”
