Otaku USA’s October 2015 Issue is Out Now!

The latest issue of Otaku USA Magazine, the October 2015 issue, hit newsstands yesterday with a big, blue Show by Rock cover. Editor-in-chief Patrick Macias has the scoop on what’s in it:

“Based on the subjects and themes popping up in our features this time, something spiritual and supernatural in nature appears to be loose in our pages. We certainly didn’t plan things that way going in, but ancient Japanese gods and their mysterious ways all seem to figure prominently in our stories about Inari Konkon and Noragami, written by Evan Minto and Ink, respectively.

Another all-time great tradition—Japanese high school—gets a weird twist as well in our story on Assassination Classroom, courtesy of Ink (and the moon, it seems). Even another anime tradition—the “aren’t the neighbors wacky in a lovable sort of way” comedy—gets a new spin in Kristina Potts’ story on Kawai Complex Guide to Manors & Hostel Behavior. Finally, Sanrio (the house that Hello Kitty built) takes aim at the otaku market with Show by Rock, and returning writer Clarissa Graffeo explains it all.””

Some readers have been alarmed by the November 16th “display until” date listed on the cover, below the bar code. Don’t let it worry you, since it was a typo! The real takedown date for this issue is September 28th, at which time the December 2015 issue will arrive. There will in fact not be a 3.5 month wait for the next issue!
