Phantasy Star Online 2 Heads for PS4, Anime Gets Promo

Lots of big news for fans (phans?) of Phantasy Star Online 2.

First up, it looks like Phantasy Star Online 2 will hit PlayStation 4 next year. The game is currently available on Windows and and PlayStation Vita.

2016 will also see the release of the online game’s fourth episode, entitled “Reborn.”

Meanwhile, Sega also released the first promo video for Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation, the upcoming anime series based on the game.

The three main characters of the series revealed in the series, three PSO2 players, are Itsuki Tachibana (Shota Aoi), Rina Izumi (Ayaka Suwa) and Aika Suzuki (M.A.O.). The series is directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Hayate the Combat Butler).

Phantasy Star Online 2 remains officially unavailable in western regions, though an unofficial English patch is available. Will the release of a PS4 version and an anime series motivate Sega to give PSO2 an official western release?
