Pokémon Black and White Get North American Release Date

Japanese players have been catchin’ ’em all in Nintendo’s latest pair of Pokémon iterations since September, leaving North American fans to hold off just a little bit longer before they can get their hands on it. Thankfully, the release date for Pokémon Black and White has been confirmed, and they’ll be hitting shelves on March 6, 2011.

Since this will likely be the series’ swan song on DS (making way for the ever exciting 3DS), don’t expect a revolutionary Pokémon experience. Still, there are plenty of additions to the formula that should serve to titillate long-time trainers.

The differences between versions largely hinge on Black‘s Black City, and the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram. On the other side, White players can seek out Zekrom and explore the White Forest. Black and White also throw seasons into the mix, and of course there’s that whole “over 150 new Pokémon” aspect, as well.

Whichever shade is your poison, you’ve just got a few more months of waiting ahead.
