Puffy AmiYumi Take New York at NYAF 2010

Puffy AmiYumi are perhaps among the most recognizable Japanese artists to break through the American barrier, at least to those not deeply entrenched in everything J-pop. Sure, Utada’s released a couple English albums, but has she ever had her own cartoon series like Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi? I think not!

Fans of the poppy duo will no doubt be delighted to discover that their assault on America hasn’t come to an end, as they’ve been announced for both appearances and a performance this fall in New York.

Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura will be appearing at the joint New York Anime Festival/New York Comic Con for panel discussions and autograph signings. These events at the Javits Center lead up to their performance at the Far East to East Showcase on Sunday, October 10.

That gives us all one more reason to get ready for this double-convention, which is already looking to be a real humdinger. NYAF/NYCC takes place October 8-10. Check their official site for more info.
