Out of all the recent license announcements, one question remained on the minds of many: Where the hell is Mawaru Penguindrum? Well, Sentai Filmworks answered that question this weekend with the announcement of the Brain’s Base animated series, with plans for a release on DVD and Blu-ray this December.
Penguindrum has been getting a lot of buzz, which should come as no surprise from a series directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara (Sailor Moon, Revolutionary Girl Utena). Sentai didn’t stop there, though. Also coming to DVD and Blu-ray this December is the Yoshiaki Kawajiri-directed classic Ninja Scroll, which we recently revisited.
Finally, season one of Letter Bee, AKA Tegami Bachi, is coming to subtitled-only DVD this December. VIZ Media published Hiroyuki Asada’s shonen manga in North America.
