Soft Tennis Anime Hoshiai no Sora Gets Megumi Nakajima Opening

Soft Tennis Anime Hoshiai no Sora Gets Megumi Nakajima OpeningIt’s been a while since we heard any news about Hoshiai no Sora (Star-Crossing Skies), the upcoming anime about a middle school soft tennis team.

Now we’ve learned the series’ opening theme will be performed by Megumi Nakajima. The song will be called “Suiso,” which means “Aquarium” in Japanese.

Megumi Nakajima is both a singer and voice actor, and made her debut as Ranka Lee in Macross Frontier. She’s also performed tracks for anime like Fuuka and Recovery of an MMO Junkie.

What do aquariums have to do with soft tennis? Guess we’ll find out in October, when Hoshiai no Sora hits screens.

The series is directed by Kazuki Akane, best known for Escaflowne and Code Geass: Akito the Exiled. Akane is also writing the scripts. It’s being animated at 8-bit, with character designs by Yuichi Takahashi.

For those wondering: soft tennis is a variation on tennis that uses rubber balls instead of the standard yellow ones. It’s primarily played in Asian countries. Still doesn’t explain the aquarium thing, though!
