Sony Offers Up Another Streaming Alternative

Is the current selection of streaming anime services just not enough for you? Hey, the more the merrier, because competition is a beautiful thing. Sony knows this well, and the company is throwing their hat in the ring with Crackle.

Crackle has kicked things off with a solid starting lineup of series. They just started rolling out episodes of Macross yesterday, and are also showing Blood +, Rurouni Kenshin and Humanoid Monster Bem.

The rollout through the rest of the year consists of weekly additions like Air Master (November 8), Fist of the North Star (November 22), Galaxy Express (December 13), and more. This all builds to the US debut of Animax’s original production, LaMB, on December 27.

At the moment it appears that most, if not all, of their streams are dub-only, which may come as a disappointment, especially when the competition tends to offer up subs or a choice between the two. Regardless, it should be interesting to see what Crackle does next.
