The gdgd Fairies Movie Now Has a Trailer

A month or two ago, we reported the potential Anime News of the Year: gdgd Fairies, the 5-minute episode comedy show where they throw a bunch of voice actresses in a room, make them adlib a barrage of absurd situations, and then animate everything with the cheapest CG technology available, was getting a movie.

Now we have a trailer, and yeah, this is looking like the gdgd Fairies movie, all right.

Obviously they’re bringing the cast back (Suzuko Mimori, Kaoru Mizuhara and Satomi Akesaka as main characters pkpk, shrshr and krkr — yes, those are their actual names, okay), and co-writer Ryoichi Mori will be getting into the recording booth, too, probably because why the heck not.

This is looking to be a particularly powerful piece of animation history in the making, and thankfully we’ll only have to wait until… September 27 to see the results. For some reason I thought the release date was sooner when I started writing that sentence, but I’ll persevere.
