New Tokyo Godfathers English Dub Previewed Ahead of Screenings

GKIDS is bringing Satoshi Kon’s classic Tokyo Godfathers to US screens this March — and it’s giving the film a brand-new English dub to boot.

Now you can give that dub a listen thanks to a new trailer for the film.

The main cast looks a little like this:

Gin – Jon Avner
Miyuki – Victoria Grace
Hana – Shakina Nayfack

Mother – Kate Bornstein
Miyuki’s Father – Crispin Freeman
Old Man – David Manis
Oota – Jamieson Price
Yasuo – Kirk Thornton

GKIDS and Fathom Events will screen the film in a new 4K restoration on March 9 (subbed) and March 11 (dubbed).

Here’s how GKIDS describes it:

In modern-day Tokyo, three homeless people’s lives are changed forever when they discover a baby girl at a garbage dump on Christmas Eve. As the New Year fast approaches, these three forgotten members of society band together to solve the mystery of the abandoned child and the fate of her parents. Along the way, encounters with seemingly unrelated events and people force them to confront their own haunted pasts, as they learn to face their future, together.

Meanwhile, in Japan, work on a Tokyo Godfathers stage play is underway.

Anyway, this film is one of our faves. Check it out!
