April 29, 2011 The next movie from the ever-prolific Takashi Miike (Audition, Dead or Alive, Yatterman) is not only a remake, but it’s also in 3-D. Normally that would be the death knell for any interest in a film, but this is Miike we’re talking about here.
The movie is Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai, Miike’s take on Masaki Kobayashi’s 1962 film Seppuku (Hara-Kiri). The 30-second teaser below won’t give you much more than a glimpse, but it already looks like a somber, classy film worthy of following up Kobayashi’s classic. Now, about that 3-D…
