Voice Actor Yuichiro Umehara Hospitalized, Takes HiatusIt was reported today voice actor Yuichiro Umehara, known for roles in series like Darling in the Franxx, has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.

Specifically, Umehara has been diagnosed with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, or ADEM, a disease which affects the nervous system and which can lead to the development of multiple sclerosis (MS).

It was also announced Umehara will be on hiatus for an indefinite period of time while he focuses on recovery.

Umehara, who is 27, made his major voice acting debut in 2014’s Orenchi no Furo Jijo. Recent roles include Goro in Darling in the Franxx and Siegfried Kircheis in Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These.

The voice actor’s hospitalization and hiatus were announced by his agency Artsvision.

Here’s hoping for a quick and complete recovery for Umehara.
