Yo-kai Watch Anime Heads to Disney XD

Level-5’s latest cross-media game creation Yo-kai Watch is already a big hit in Japan, and hopes are high that it will generate the same type of excitement when it hits western shores. In addition to one of Level-5’s Yo-kai Watch Nintendo 3DS games coming over in English, the anime adaptation will be making its way to Disney XD later this year. 

So far the first 26 episodes are planned for broadcast on Disney XD and related platforms. 

Rights management and marketing coordination for the show—which is co-produced by Dentsu, Level-5, and TV Tokyo—will fall to Level-5 moving forward. Hasbro also has a toy line planned for North America, with a launch set for next spring.

Synopsis:

YO-KAI WATCH is an animated comedy series that follows the hilarious misadventures of an average human boy and his involvement with the mischievous Yo-kai all around him. Our young hero obtains a special watch, empowering him to discover and summon the mysterious Yo-kai, befriend them, and then work together to solve everyday problems… problems that are often caused by other trouble-making Yo-kai!
