Yu Yu Hakusho Inspires Stage Play, Shares First Visual

Every manga or anime property must, at some point, be adapted into a stage play, and the streak continues with upcoming performances based on Yoshihiro Togashi’s Yu Yu Hakusho series. The ’90s shonen action fantasy is coming to the stage with the help of writer-director Chuji Mikasano—who previously wrote the Tokyo Ghoul TV anime and directed the Touken Ranbu musical—and it’s set to run in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Aichi this summer.

Protagonist Yusuke Urameshi will be played by Tsubasa Sakiyama, who played Ishikirimaru in the Touken Ranbu series of musicals. Pre-sales for tickets go live on May 11, and you can check out the first teaser visual below.

The full cast includes:

Tsubasa Sakiyama as Yusuke Urameshi
Naoya Goumoto as Kazuma Kuwabara
Hiroki Suzuki as Kurama
Shohei Hashimoto as Hiei
Miku as Keiko Yukimura
Mio Kadohsima as Atsuko Urameshi
Yuka Hirata as Botan
Kenta Nitta as Gouki
Elizabeth Marry as Genkai
